Setup and Tear Down

We're a mobile church. Every week we bring everything in to make Austin High School into The Austin Stone Community Church and take it out again when we are done. It is a lot of work but we believe it is well worth it!

Contact Justin if you have any questions about setup and teardown.

We're a Mobile Church

Everyone is invited to help us prepare Austin High for the service every Sunday night and to take down our handy-work following each service. We setup the stage, chairs, screens, info tables and children's area every week so there's plenty to do. Come on out for some healthy work and an opportunity to get to know some people at the Stone.

Who normally does setup and teardown?

  • Setup and teardown is organized into four teams that are on a monthly rotation. If you are interested in joining one of these teams, there's always room. Contact Justin to find out more information.
  • If you are willing to be on a substitution list, contact Justin as well. This list is used when regular team members cannot make it one Sunday.
  • Regardless of whether you're a team member or a substitute, you are always welcome to join us for setup or teardown. The help is always appreciated and it's a great way to meet some of the finest people at the Stone.

When should I arrive?

Setup takes place at 7:15am every Sunday morning at Austin High. It takes about 90 minutes.
Teardown happens right after the 7pm service. It takes a little over one hour.

What will I be asked to do?

A team leader is there every week to direct the overall setup and teardown process. Setup and teardown involves unloading/loading the truck, moving and storing the chairs and stage, etc.

A group usually grabs dinner after teardown is finished, so plan on joining us if you would like.

How can our Community Group help?

Volunteer to serve as a group - or just pick a Sunday to stay and help out together.
